Eligibility Conditions:

Unmarried male citizen of Pakistan.

Age not more than 20 years as of December 31, 2023. FATA/Gilgit Baltistan/AJK/Balochistan candidates should be not more than 21 years as of December 31, 2023 (One Year Age Relaxation).

Academic Qualification:

Candidates must have passed F.Sc Pre Engineering or O/A Level with the subject combination of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, with at least 55% marks. Candidates with O/A Levels must submit an Equivalence Certificate.

F.Sc/A Level Part-II appearing candidates with at least 60% marks in Part-I can also apply. However, they need to provide a Hope Certificate from the head of their respective college/institute.

If a candidate fails to attain 55% marks in F.Sc after providing the Hope Certificate, they will be disqualified at any stage of the selection process or discharged during training.

How to Register:

Prospectus & application form can be downloaded from the PMA Website: www.marineacademy.edu.pk. The same is also available at the PMA Admission Office.

Submit the application form through Courier Services along with a pay order/bank draft of Rs. 3,000/- in favor of Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), PMA Branch Code-0239.

Candidates applying under the Self Finance Scheme (SFS) are required to submit an additional pay order/bank draft of Rs. 300,000/- along with the application form. The SFS fee will be refunded if the candidate is selected on open-merit or does not meet PMA eligibility criteria.

Selection Procedure:

Entrance Test will be conducted at Abbottabad, Gwadar Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad (AJK), Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Sukkur through hired Testing Agencies.

Minimum 50% marks are required to qualify for the entrance test.

Medical examination of shortlisted candidates will be conducted at designated Army/Navy Hospitals.

Final selection will be done based on merit, which includes F.Sc. Marks, Entry Test Marks, Medical, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and final interview.

PET and interview will be conducted after the Medical Examination. The dates for the Final Interview and PET will be updated on the PMA website and communicated to the candidates.

The PET standards are as follows:

One Mile (1.6 Km) Run: 08 Minutes

Push-ups: 15 Repetitions in 02 Minutes

Sit-ups: 15 Repetitions in 02 Minutes

Chin-ups: 02 Repetitions in 02 Minutes

Education/Training & Degree/Certificates Awarded:

02 years residential training will be conducted at PMA.

Upon completion of training, an Associate Degree in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering will be awarded by NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.

Certificates of International Maritime Organization (IMO) recognized Pre-Sea Mandatory Courses.

Scholarships:

37 fully paid scholarships are offered to Cadets.

33 need-based scholarships are sponsored by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.

04 need-based scholarships are given by the Global Radiance Group of Companies.

Ineligibility:

Submitting tampered academic certificates/mark-sheets/documents.
